Liu Zhihua is a political prisoner in Popular republic of China since 1989.

Liu Zhihua was stopped in June 1989 to have taken part in a demonstration against the violent repression of the pro-democratic movement by the government (see Manifestations of the place Tiananmen). Old of 18 or 19 years at the time of the facts, it was Ouvrier in a factory of electricals appliance with Xiangtan, in the Hunan.

In October 1989, under the inculpation of hooliganism, he is condemned to the imprisonment with life for “serious disorders with the law and order”.

After various handing-over of sorrows, Liu Zhihua should leave the prison of Longxi in January 2011, after 22 years of detention.
