Liu Xie (劉勰, 465 - 522 ) is a Chinese writer. He is the author of the most important work on Chinese literary esthetics, the Heart of the literature and the sculpture of the dragons (文心雕龍). In first half, it describes 34 different styles from writing (those which existed until its time), and it continues by analyzing the methods of composition: style, emotion, parallelism, metaphor, diction, organization, and so on.
