Liu Mingchuan
Liu Mingchuan (1836-1896, 劉銘傳), was an officer during the dynasty Qing, he was born in Hefei in the province from the Anhui. It was implied in the repression of the revolt of Taiping being young and worked with Zeng Guofan and Li Hongzhang. In 1885 he becomes the first governor of Taiwan. Nowadays one this remembers him for these efforts for the modernization of Taiwan.
