Litizdat

The Litizdat or literary Département of edition is an agency d´ Soviet Union founded in June 1919 in order to coordinate the various centers of publication to the service of the mode Bolshevik.

History

Body in load of the development and the publication of documents politico-soldiers (works technical, periodic, posters, images, drawings, proclamations), it ends up absorbing the others " agences" by preoccupation of output and an effectiveness.

Litizdat was directed to its creation and during the years of civil war by Vyacheslav Polonsky. Among the artists having worked under his direction, one counts in particular Dmitri Moor and Viktor Deni.

During the first years of life of the mode Bolshevik which fought then for her survival, graphic art played a crucial role in a search of support of a mainly illétrée Russian company and éthniquement composite. Thus between 1918 and 1921, nearly 4000 posters different were composed in Soviet Union and reproduced in million from specimens.
