Literary prize of Cotentin

The Literary prize of Cotentin is decreed every year with a book written by a writer originating in the Cotentin or whose action takes place in this area or whose topic celebrates it.

It was created in 1965 by the deputy and mayor of Valognes Pierre Godefroy and some scholars of the English Channel: Fernand Lechanteur, headmaster of the Malherbe college, Albert Postel, farmer, Jean Barbaroux, director of the Mail of the English Channel , Côtis-Capel, priest and poet, Jean Mabire, journalist, Andre Dupont and Marcel Lelégard, abbot.
