Particularités
  • the town of Kinshasa has the statute of province, and is consequently not divided downtown and districts, and does not have a mayor. The rural part of Kinshasa corresponds to the commune of Maluku and partially Nsele;
  • certain provinces, the such Maniema, the North-Kivu and the South-Kivu do not comprise districts;
  • certain territories do not depend on a district, but on a city. Moanda for example depends on Boma;
  • Kolwezi would in addition be subjected to the urbano-rural District of Kolwezi;
  • some of the districts, the such for example district of Mongala should be in the long term transformed into provinces (voted Constitution in May 2005), others, such those of the Plateaux and gathered May-Ndombe, and all with addition of the cities so present.
