List presidents of the Belgian Senate
The president of the senate of Belgium is resulting from the party or the coalition of parties which obtained the majority at the time of the elections. It must be approved by the others Senator S and is generally selected among the senators having largest political experience.
Role of the president
The president has as a role to direct the debates at the plenary sessions, and in general to make function the democracy. He also represents the Senate at the time of ceremonies and he can also receive foreign personalities (the Dalaï Lama for example).
