This page counts the 77 official languages in the countries of the world. The asterisks (*) indicate the languages which are official only in part of the territory (States, cantons, provinces…). The India laying out, in addition to the English and the Hindi , of twenty-two other official languages, these last do not appear in the list and one will refer to the article on the languages of India.
