List of the Dalai Lama

The Dalaï Lama (in Tibetan taala' I blamed ) belongs to the school dGe-lugs-Pa and is the king of Tibet. Tshong-ka-Pa is the founder of this school but is not counted among Dalaï Lama. The word taala' I is a loan with the Mongolian meaning “ocean”, just like the word Gyatso, rgya-mtsho of second part of each name, except the first: in fact it is the name Gendun which was to be transmitted to each generation.
