List new stations on lines at high speed in France

The new stations on line at high speed , sometimes called “stations (a)”, are a characteristic of the French network of lines at high speed.

This type of establishment, sometimes criticized, results at the same time from the French geography, marked by the existence of a capital, which dominates largely by its size and its attraction force all the other agglomerations, and of the will of the SNCF to privilege the direct connections between great agglomerations for better competing with the air mode. According to the geographer Jean-François Troin, “the stations in the countryside are an illusion of town planning, born from the phantasm from the elected officials and interests of the SNCF which wishes to save the most time on the layout by avoiding the downtown areas. ”

They are Gare S of passage located at the variation (except exception) of the center of the agglomerations and generally without connection with the traditional Railway network. Their service road is in general limited to some daily stops.

The station of Ablaincourt-Press, famous “High-Picardy” is known as the “station of the Betterave S”.
