Trumpet, Horn and Bugle

Note: The majority of the trumpet players of the beginning of the history of the jazz began with the Cornet (example: Louis Armstrong). The trumpet was essential in the world of the jazz in the Thirties. Rare are the musicians who, since, practice only the horn (cf lower listing). Moreover, since the Forties, a great number of trumpet players have is " doublé" with the Bugle, this one like “first instrument is used”. The Trompette piccolo was very seldom used in jazz (sometimes like “2nd instrument” e.g. Ted Curson, Lew Soloff), on the other hand, certain musicians specialized in the bass Trumpet.
