House of Montmorency
In April 1554 the constable of Montmorency obtained from the king the union of the seigniory of Derval to the baronnie of Chateaubriant. Consequently, there was not any more a baron de Derval, but the ground seigneuriale of this name remained the property of the dukes of Montmorency, then princes of Condé, successively barons de Châteaubriant.
In 1560, three Châtellenie S neighbors were annexed with the baronnie of Derval: Guémené, Jans and Anguignac. They raised then of the king and the Présidial of Nantes, and extended in thirteen parishes: Derval, Saint-Aubin-of-Castles, Saint-Vincent-of-Moors, Jans, Treffieux, Abbaretz, Conquereuil, Guémené, Avessac, Lusanger, Louisfert, Besné and Saint-Nicolas-with-Redon. A fourth small châtellenie, that of Beauregard, formed also part of the baronnie of Derval, but it concerned Rock-in Nort.

Henri Ier de Montmorency (1534 † 1614), brother of the precedent, " first baron de France". Lord of Damville to his birth, it becomes with dead of sound brother duke of Montmorency, Count de Dammartin, and of Alais, Baron de Châteaubriant, lord of Chantilly and Écouen and Gouverneur of the Languedoc as from 1563, Marshal of France in 1567, constable.
The Château is taken, in 1590, by the Duc of Mercoeur. Henri IV makes demolish the castle in 1593.

Henri II of Montmorency (born in 1595, wire of the precedent, carried out in Toulouse the October 30th 1632), wire of Henri Ier de Montmorency, godson of the king de France Henri IV, it was Admiral de France at 17 years, Vice-roi of the News-France and governor of the Languedoc. He is the husband of Marie-Félicie of Ursins. He took part in the wars against the Protesting S, and beat the fleet of Soubise in front of La Rochelle in 1625. Marshal of France in 1630, it intrigued with Gaston of Orleans, brother of the king, against the Cardinal of Richelieu. Condemned to died for crime of lese-majesty, it was carried out in Toulouse the October 30th 1632. Its confiscated goods passed to the Maison of Cop.
