The first launcher to reach it is Walter Johnson in 1923 and it only remains until in 1974 when Bob Gibson joined it. In 1983, Steve Carlton takes the head of the classification with 3709 withdrawals. In 1984, it is exceeded by Nolan Ryan which finishes its career in 1993 with 5714 withdrawals. Steve Carlton remains second of the classification with 4136 withdrawals until in 1998. It is initially exceeded by Roger Clemens in 1998, then by Randy Johnson in 2000. Among the 15 launchers of this classification, alone Randy Johnson and Steve Carlton are left-handed. Except Bert Blyleven, all the eligible players were elected with the Temple of re-elected baseball.
