List larger success of the American boxoffice

This article presents the first 22 films of the American Box-office, i.e. the 22 films which brought back the largest receipt in current USD (not revalued inflation). In fact, the old results (made up with a price of the lower ticket) are more important than those carried out recently.

The receipts correspond to the receipts of the producing distributers/(the share of the owners is deduced). On the other hand, they do not give an precise idea of the benefit of the producers since those see an increasingly significant part their receipts coming from other media (television, DVD,…) and of the international markets. Contrary, it is necessary to deduce the expenses from distribution, the investments marketing being sometimes higher than the budget of production. Lastly, a share is allocated to the beneficiaries, agents and actors who can profit on the one hand benefit according to their contract.
