List larger container ships

This list presents a classification of largest the Porte-conteneurs to the world currently in service. With the constant evolution of the size of the container ships during the years 2000, this list is likely to evolve/move permanently.

The criterion being used to compare these ships is their capacity, expressed in EVP (number of Conteneur S of twenty feet which the ship can transport, although the majority of large transport primarily of the forty feet). For the ships of Mærsk, the “official” capacity is the capacity of carrying of EVP already in charge of 14 tons each one; the real capacity (including empty containers for example) is indicated here.

Only the ships of more than 9.000 EVP are indicated.
