List characters of the Adventures of Tintin and Milou
Here a list of all the characters present in Adventures of Tintin and Milou (of Tintin in Congo with Tintin and Picaros ) and their album corresponding (where they are present or if one refers of it):
With
It is the son of the emir
Ben Kalish Ezab who plays of the rotten tricks with
Tintin and especially with the Capitaine Haddock, often containing Pétard S. It is a archi-spoiled child with whom his father does not refuse any gadget. It should be noted that it never names the Capitaine Haddock by his true name, but it calls it
millsabord .
the general
Alcazar is a character who will remain, throughout the albums, closely related to its country, the
San Theodoros. Occupying the capacity several times during the years, it was each time reversed by its adversary, the general Tapioca. In all, it counts 5 coups d'etat to its credit.
It is in the broken Ear that it becomes acquainted with Tintin and names it Colonel Aide-de-camp. After a rather brutal separation, the two characters rather cordially find in the 7 crystal balls , where Alcazar became launcher of Poignard S… They meet then in Coke in stock . Finally, in Tintin and Picaros , it is Tintin which will help it to take again the capacity. the Alcazar general is a heavy smoker of Cigare S. He also likes to play failures and it is an excellent launcher of daggers. It is a man rather not very scrupulous, since he does not hesitate to make the traffic of planes or to declare the war for economic interests. Of a temperament rather coleric, the only person in front of whom Alcazar trembles is… his Peggy wife. It is the woman of the General Ramon Alcazar who calls it " my colombe" and - according to the notes of Hergé - the girl of the trafficker of weapons Basile Bazaroff. Of male appearance, it has a very strong character and it is it which makes the law at Alcazar. It leads her husband to the rod. She does not hesitate besides with the réprimander publicly when this one returns late at his place or lets trail ashes of its cigar. With Bianca Castafiore, it is the only notable female character of the universe of tintin.
B
rival Eternal of the emir Ben Kalish Ezab, it does not have of cease to want to reverse it and to seize the capacity to the Khemed. Representative of oil interests different from those which support the emir, it will arrive to his ends in Coke in Stock , while being pressed in particular on traffickers of weapons and his agent Müller . However it will lose the part at the end of the album as a newspaper cutting indicates it sobrement. Its name is drawn from the Zwanze Bruxellois E: babeleer which means " bavard". It is one of the two enemy gangsters of Tintin in the broken Ear . Friend of Alonzo Perez, it learns that one concealed with the ethnographic Museum a fetish arumbaya (imaginary Amerindian tribe of San Théodoros, State of imaginary South America him also). This fetish contains an invaluable and magic diamond (it would preserve bites of snake that which touches it). Poor launcher of daggers, it kills, with Perez, Rodrigo Tortilla, assassin of: Balthazar, which carved copies of the fetish. They will find the trace of the fetish stolen by Tortilla, stray all along the history. The fetish was bought by American Samuel Goldwood. At the time of a dispute between the gangsters and Tintin, diamond falls to water, as well as the three individuals, but only Tinin escapes the drowning.
the Journalist Jean-Wolf of Shipping and the Photographe Walter Rizotto works for the magazine Paris-Flash . They appear for the first time in the Jewels of Castafiore . In spite of the will of Bianca Castafiore not to receive journalists during its holidays with Moulinsart, they manage without problem to be made invite to the castle to interview it: the good reputation of their magazine and especially the attraction of Castafiore for glory are there undoubtedly for something. Like “journalists people”, they are with the research of least the Scoop to dope the sales of their magazine: the Mariage of Castafiore with the Capitaine Haddock would make a good of it. That causes then enormous a Quiproquo following a new misunderstanding of the Professor Tournesol which assure them the marriage while thinking of speaking to them about flowers. One then finds these two characters in Tintin and Picaros . They come to question the captain after the Général Tapioca showed it to have fomented a plot against him with Castafiore. They are also present in the last remake of the Black Island in 1965, where they interview old Écossais, then Tintin in connection with the mystery of the island, before fleeing with all legs with the sight of Ranko the Gorille with the remainder of the press. Origines the name of “Jean-Wolf of Shipping” was inspired at the time (1962) of that of the young journalist and novelist Jean-Loup Dabadie, a journalist who carries out us in boat. Hergé had created these characters of journalists after being interviewed by Paris-Match and to have found whimsical the report of maintenance. Anecdote the two characters take again to service in the episode the Emissary of the data base of espionage Alpha . He is the director of the secret base where one prepares the lunar rocket in Objectif the Moon and One went on the Moon. Very serious, conscientious and calm, it does not have a direction of humor, but respects much Tintin and the Haddock captain. Its name is inspired by the salesman of weapons Basil Zaharoff, of its true name Zacharias Basileios died in 1936. The character sells weapons at the same time with the San Theodoros and Nuevo Rico which is in war for the control of an oil-bearing zone. It is the emir Khemed. Its name drawn from the Zwanze of Brussels: kalische zab = juice of liquorice, expression which indicates in extenso an insipid coffee. It will undergo just like the general Alcazar the disadvantages of the capacity. Tintin makes of it knowledge during its first voyage to the Khemed, in With the country of the black gold . It saves then his son Abdallah , a rascal of the worst species, plots of the Dr. Müller . Its enemy Bab El Ehr' succeeds in seizing the power in the album Coke in stock and Ben Kalish Ezab must take refuge in clandestinity. A little later he will manage to take again his throne. the emir Ben Kalish Ezab is without pity for its enemies, to which he likes to apply the torture by impalement. Enough badly at ease with certain Western principles such as the human rights, it always does not include/understand the gestures of Tintin. It is only in front of his/her Abdallah son that it excessively proves to tend, except when it is victim of its jokes and traps… Ethnologue, it is an old friend of the Professor Tournesol. It took part in the Sanders-Hardmuth forwarding of which he is the last still unscathed member, Clairmont, Laubépin, Charlet, Cantonneau and Hornet, victims of a curse, having been plunged in a deep lethargy. Anxious of the fate which is likely to fall down on him, Tintin, the Capitaine Haddock and Tournesol goes to Bergamotte, which preserved in its house the Momie of Rascar Capac brought back of forwarding to the Peru. Whereas a storm bursts, the lightning is introduced into the house and makes disappear the mummy. In the night, Bergamotte starts to be delirious and Tintin discovers crystal glares close to its bed. Bergamotte is in its turn reached by the curse. It is in the garden of its house that, the following day, Tournesol is removed by mysterious criminals after having passed to his wrist the bracelet of the mummy. Bergamotte will leave its lethargy, like its six other fellow-members, thanks to Tintin which, in the Temple of the Sun , obtains from the chief of Incas that it puts an end to the curse which fell down on the seven explorers. Inspirations the house of professor Bergamotte, illustrated in a way very detailed in the album, was drawn by Hergé according to sketches carried out in the years 1940 by Edgar P. Jacobs, his/her collaborator at the time. To represent outside, Jacobs took model on a residence located in the surroundings of the house where Hergé placed, and which had been requisitioned by German officers of occupation. Located at Watermael-Boitsfort, close to Brussels, in Belgium, this residence is always visible today. It is a powerful financier who directs the bank Bohlwinkel de Sao Rico. It would wish to put the hand on the aerolite fallen into the Arctic Ocean because this one consists of an unknown metal named Calystène (overdraft by Professor Calys). But contrary to this last which wants to take possession of metal at only scientific ends, Bohlwinkel is animated only desire to earn money thanks to the extreme scarcity of metal. It finances for that the ship Peary , which is the competitor of the Aurore ship (on board of which Tintin is and professor Calys in particular) in the race towards the aerolite. But Bohlwinkel is a man without scupule close with very arriving to its ends. Indeed he will not hesitate to try to sabotage the Aurore the day before his departure then will try on the open sea to run it by making it strike by another boat. Then it will prohibit with its subsidiary company, the Golden delicious Oil to supply with fuel oil the bâteau in Iceland in order to prevent it from continuing the road. But seeing its attempts failing, it will faira to send a false S.O.S to the Dawn to divert it race towards invaluable metal. But at the end of the album after the failure its company, its operations are discovered and it is stopped. It is represented furtively throughout the album sitting at its office with Johnson her secretary and smoking a cigar. In the original version, he was a “powerful financier of New York” named “Blumenstein”, whose features correspond to the caricatures anti-semites (large hooked nose, thick lips…) that one then found the every day in the press. In the new version, it preserves the same features but changes name and is at another place. As inhabitant of Brussels, “bollewinkel” - that Hergé spelled “Bohlwinkel” to change a little - means “small shop of confectionery”. However, the difference between the two names seems at the very least minor, because, just like “Blumenstein”, “Bohlwinkel” are a Jewish name. Tintin meets it first once in the Sceptre of Ottokar . It is called then colonel Boris and it is the aide-de-camp of its majesty the king of Syldavie, Muskar XII. But it acts, actually, of a treacherous , of which the single goal is to take possession of the sceptre of Ottokar and thus to reverse Muskar XII of its throne. Tintin will finally manage to thwart this plot in extremis. Then one finds it in One went on the Moon (after having seen it, very briefly, in Objectif the Moon ). It carries, this time, its true name, Jorgen . It takes seat in the rocket secretly going on the moon in the only intention killing Tintin and thus being avenged for this first affront. But he will not hesitate to try to kill all the companions of Tintin. Finally, it will find death while fighting with Frank Wolf, its ex-accomplice. Its body will be thrown in space. It is monumental mason. For this reason the Capitaine Haddock requests his services, so that it repairs a walk of the staircases of the Château of Moulinsart Like much of craftsman, Mr. Boullu is a man not very in a hurry: besides the captain Haddock and Nestor on the occasion to realize it since they must call it ten time before he condescends to come to repair walk. That has besides the gift to make furious the captain who, by his fault, is made a low register Entorse while slipping on famous walk. Isidore Boullu is also member of the Fanfare of Moulinsart.

Directing of a observatory, it is the first nobody to predict the exact hour against which the Météorite will run up against the Ground. Then he discovers new a Métal, the calystene, to which he gives his name. With Tintin, it then organizes a Expédition towards the Arctique of which he is the chief, to take possession of the meteorite and metal. Professor at the university of Freiburg, it is one of the scientists who take part in the international scientific expedition in mysterious Star . One finds it later in the Seven Crystal balls ; it has just taken part in a scientific expedition in South America and it, like its fellow-members, is reached of a mysterious lethargy and victim of envoûtement which will cease only at the end of the album the Temple of the Sun . Character inspired by Marcel Dassault. In the album Flight 714 for Sydney , to defer it meeting by chance this billionaire at the time of a stopover to the airport of Djakarta whereas it decides to go to Sydney. Laszlo Carreidas proposes then with Tintin, Milou, Haddock and Tournesol to take them on board its private jet for the end of their voyage. Morbid (he sneezes and carries constantly a scarf), cheater (when he plays naval battle against the Haddock captain), disrespectful towards his personnel (who plots against him), he does not show an positive image of the billionaire. What he wants, he has, would be it this only to show that he is richest (purchase with the biddings of a batch of tables during the loading). It is obnubilated by its hat. The Truth drug managed by the Doctor Krollspell will reveal that its cupidity goes up with its more tender childhood…

It is a friend of the Capitaine Haddock with which it sailed more than 20 years. It appears only once in flesh and bone, in the mysterious Star . Cependant three other albums refer to him. In the Treasury of Rackham the Red , our heroes leave to hunting to the treasure on the Sirius , trawler pertaining to Chester. In the 7 Crystal balls , Tintin and Haddock, with the continuation of the kidnappers of the Professor Tournesol, are with Saint-Nazaire and decide to go to greet Chester with La Rochelle. It is presented to Tintin by the Maharajah de Rawajpoutalah and gives a small spectacle to show its gifts: to dance on pieces of broken bottle, to transpierce the body of daggers and swords, to make the equilibrist, head with back on a long sharp-edged vertical point. If the Planche with nails is its preferred seat, it does not support to sit down on a cushion, having “the so sensitive skin”. It has also gifts of clairvoyance and warns Tintin against the dangers which watch for it, dangers which will find their realization in the continuation of the album.

It is the chief of the police force of the international Concession of Shanghai. It seems the accomplice of Mitsuhirato in the blue Lotus collaborating in the arrest of Tintin. He will acknowledge himself finally overcome. The character also appears in Coke in stock where Dupondt spin it under the pseudonym of Dubreuil, in fact Dawson, which negotiates with the Général Alcazar planes of war. To defer takes it in hunting in its turn… and Dawson is furious this new interference. - Delcourt (the lieutenant) (the Crab with the gold grips)
- Di Gorgonzola (Marquis) (Coke in stock)

It actually acts of infamous the Rastapopoulos , sworn enemy of Tintin, which, under the false identity of the Marquis di Gorgonzola, plays the life of a billionaire owner in particular of many television channels as well as the transport company " Arabair" , which is actually only one cover enabling him to devote to an odious traffic Esclaves. It also has an immense yacht, baptized Shérazade , on which it organizes cruisings to which it invites all the world jet set. At the end of the album, after being recognized and about to be made stop, it simulates its clean dead. In the Jewels of Castafiore one learns that, according to the press, Di Gorgonzola would have had an adventure with Castafiore. Wire of Wang Jen-Ghié , it is charged by this one with protecting Tintin but becomes insane, under the effect of a dart poisoned with the radjaïdjah, the " poison-which-returns-fou". This scientist bald person is a specialist in the extraterrestrial . It is equipped with a small transmitting antenna which enables him to communicate by the thought with the protagonists of the history. This character of Hergé seems to borrow the features of Jacques Bergier.

This Neurologist Chinese, recognized for its works on the madness and the alienism, appears only in the the blue Lotus . It is removed by traffickers of Opium carried out by Rastapopoulos so that this one does not cure the victims of the radjaïdjah, the poison which makes insane. It is a LAMA Tibetan. He shows two characteristics essential with the development of the scenario of the album: he is endowed with the faculty of léviter and this gift is accompanied then by that of Clairvoyance. It is thanks to its visions (“ OOOOH ! MIGOU ! ”) that Tintin and the Capitaine Haddock find the Yéti and Tchang consequently. These two extraordinary capacities have also the gift to aggravate some of the others spangled monastery of Khor-Biyong which, before letting itself impress by them, record initially credulity and myopia of the Blessed Lightning. One can suspecter that this irritation is not decreased by the landing of the LAMA on the feet of its neighbors at the end of its visions… the Capitaine Haddock, in Cartesian Westerner , is divided in front of the talents of this “ father volant ” or of this “ species of ascenseur ” according to its own terms. It is certainly impressed by its capacities to defy the law of the Gravitation, but very dubitative as for its gifts of perspicacity. It is finally Blessed Foudre which prevents Great Invaluable return of Tintin which found Tchang . Oliveira da Figueira is a Portuguese merchant of Lisbon. Tintin meets it for the first time in the Cigars of the Pharaon , the senhor has a true genius of sale and thus he manages to sell heaps of completely useless things to him, and it is what he will do with his Arab customers once made in the desert. Thereafter, it is established with Wadesdah capital of the Arab emirate of the Khemed and thus Tintin finds it in With the country of the black gold and then in the same country in Coke in stock . In these the last two albums, the “senhor” will be always there to help our heroes and to offer rosy wine glass to them. Later, in the Jewels of Castafiore , it is one of the first to congratulate the Haddock captain for his so-called “marriage” with Bianca Castafiore.

He is the ancestor of the Capitaine Haddock. the knight François de Hadoque was a Corsaire with which it king Louis XIV made gift of the Château of Moulinsart in 1695. Ordering the vessel the Unicorn, it made it jump in 1698 in order not to leave it with the hands Pirate Rackham the Red which had seized some. Only survivor of the explosion, it flees with the treasure of the pirates on a tropical island where its language, very related with that of its descendant, impresses in an obvious way the parrots of the place. Of return in its castle of Moulinsart, it hid the treasure there. the adventures of the knight François de Hadoque and the search for its treasure by its descendant and Tintin are told in the albums the Secrecy of the Unicorn and the Treasury of Rackham the Red . Before having the castle of it, the captain inherited a table the representative, table which it deteriorates, carried by the passion of its account. On this table its vessel is also represented. Historically, considering the English consonance of the name of the captain, one could suppose that one of its ancestors left France at the time of the Revolution as did it good number of noble, to find refuge in England. If, as that seems to be the case, the trade of sailor is hereditary in his family, it is possible that its aïeux was put at the service of the British Crown against Napoleon, as certain naval officers passed to the enemy did it. Moulinsart is however clearly in Belgium, since near to Brussels, as Hergé implies it in the Unicorn and the Treasury (this is also proven by the uniforms of the Gendarmes in the Business Sunflower). However, Louis XIV, who rewarded the Knight for Hadoque with his title and his castle, did not conquer anything of more septentrional than the current northern border of France… According to the book the Daily life with Moulinsart of Thomas Sertillanges, it is in fact a bastard son of Louis XIV that Fouquet made adopt by the English admiral Haddock. The father of Archibald Haddock, agent sales of a London firm, was established in Belgium where was born his/her son. This last made its military service in the Belgian navy and became reserve officer there, choosing British Belgian nationality rather than it. Tintin makes its knowledge with the whole beginning of the album, by bringing back its towel to him which he forgot on a bench. Then the young person to defer accepts to accompany it in Syldavie to attend a congress of Sigillographie. But Tintin is unaware of that the professor hides a secrecy… Tintin makes his knowledge with the whole beginning of the album, by bringing back its towel to him which he forgot on a bench. Then the young person to defer accepts to accompany it in Syldavie to attend a congress of Sigillographie. But Tintin is unaware of that the professor hides a secrecy…

It is the chambermaid (chambermaid) of Bianca Castafiore. Irma, which follows and assists the professional singer, often undergoes her excesses of anger or concern. It is a trustworthy person, since it takes care itself on the famous jewels of her owner. Dupondt will however not hesitate to show it in the album the Jewels of Castafiore… Remarquons that it is about one of the rare recurring female characters with the Castafiore.
J
Mr Wang , as Tintin calls it, is the chief of the Fils of the dragon , a secret organization, fights about it against a band of traffickers of Opium directed by Rastapopoulos. Its first meeting with Tintin is rather animated since Wang made remove Tintin while this one left the China in boat. Thereafter Tintin and Wang will be very useful one towards the other, since they several times will save the life mutually and Tintin even will allow the cure of the son of Wang, Didi, reached madness, after being poisoned by the radjaïdjah (“the poison which makes insane”). At the end of the album, Wang organizes a banquet in the honor of the departure of Tintin and adopts Tchang that Tintin met earlier in the album. In Tintin in Tibet , one learns that Wang has a working brother with London and a living cousin with Katmandou. - Jorgen to see Boris (1) (the colonel) .
K

Directing of a psychiatric institute of New Delhi, Krollspell developed a truth drug, thanks to which Rastapopoulos with the intention to extort the fortune of the billionaire Laszlo Carreidas . But this serum appears too effective: instead of giving the number of its bank account, Carreidas enumerates the various crimes which it committed since its childhood. Captured by Tintin and the Captain Haddock, Krospell assistance, after having learned the real intentions from Rastapopoulos in its connection. the extraterrestrial subject to him him also an obliteration of its memories. One learns at the end from the album from the mouth from a journalist questioning Tintin and his friends whom it was found wandering in the surroundings of New Delhi. According to the pages of draft of the album Tintin and Alph-Art Doctor Krollspell would have become director of a laboratory of brown sugar.
L
Representing Insurances Mondass, father many and prototype of the bore, it appears for the first time in the Business Sunflower , then again in Coke in stock , the Jewels of Castafiore , Vol 714 for Sydney and finally in Tintin and Picaros . jovial Character, Lampion seems at ease in all the mediums. He does not see that he exasperates his “public” - in particular Haddock which treats it of “bore” - and is believed welcome everywhere. Very voluble, it unceasingly outputs anecdotes of his/her uncle Anatole, hairdresser of his state. Sociable with excess, he trails his large family everywhere and sows more once terror with Moulinsart. Moreover, it governs the destinies of the “Wheel-Club” and the folk group “Merry Turlurons”… It is also radio amateur at its lost hours. According to Hergé itself: “ Lampion exists to thousands of specimens: it is the type even of Brussels. (...) One generally recognizes the Inhabitant of Brussels belgicain with the fact that it carries, at the same time, a belt and straps… ” Lampion, employee of a company of insurances, is a character more " moderne" that the preceding recurring characters of Tintin, who had more obsolete and less realistic occupations (Haddock the captain with the long course, Tournesol the distracted scientist, etc). - In the animated series the adventures of Tintin , Lampion appears earlier. Indeed, if its first appearance in the data base is in the album the business Tournesol , in the cartoon it already appears in the Seven Crystal balls .
These two antique dealers are the owners of the Château of Moulinsart - in the Secrecy of the Unicorn - until this one is repurchased by the Capitaine Haddock in the following album, the Treasury of Rackham the Red . They are the adversaries of Tintin and Haddock in the treasure hunt of Rackham the Red. Not very scrupulous , they do not hesitate to remove Tintin or to try to assassinate one their former accomplices having betrayed them. Misled by this man, who loses consciousness in his arms, Tintin believes one moment that they are called “Sparrow”. Finally, they are made both stop by the police force at the end of the album. Then, at the beginning of the following album, one learns that they are escaped of prison. In spite of that, they do not intervene in the adventure. In the animated adaptation the Adventures of Tintin, according to Hergé , they intervene. the first name of the second brother Loiseau, Gustave, does not rest on any verifiable data. Seul Maxime is mentioned in the albums of Hergé and the first letter of the second brother, is " G" also appears.

Under cover to hold a clothes shop female, this trafficker Japan board of Opium work for an international organization whose Rastapopoulos is the chief. He is also a Japanese spy whose role is to find costs that a pretext costs the invasion of the China by the Japan. He explodes a way of railroad, and rejects the responsibility for this attack on extremists; thus in the world the invasion of the Japanese army is explained to maintain the order threatened in China. the Dr. Müller is an enemy of Tintin. They clash for the first time in the Black Island . Under the cover of its activities of doctor and director of asylum, Müller is a member of the international band of counterfeiters that Tintin will end up dismantling. The doctor settles thereafter with Khemed. Tintin finds there in With the country of the black gold , under the name of Professor Smith, archeologist, whereas it defends the interests of the Skoil company. It removes Abdallah, wire of Ben Kalish Ezab, to make it sing, but Tintin intervenes and delivers it. He discovers that Müller was also that which falsified the gasoline. One briefly finds it in Coke in stock , where it occupies under the name of Müll Pasha a station of Général in the army of Bab El Ehr, undoubtedly for rendered services… In spite of its orders, the attacks of the army against Tintin fail rather lamentably… Carrying only the moustache and a short beard with the whole beginning, one notices that it lets them push once with the Khemed. He is king of Syldavie. Going down from king de Syldavie Ottokar IV, it appears in the album the Sceptre of Ottokar . It is an enlightened monarch who leads itself his Voiture. Tintin with evil to approach it because this one is protected by the colonel Boris, but when that succeeds, it easily includes/understands the threat which weighs on its country and they leave together to protect the famous Sceptre, symbol of the royal capacity and the stability of the country.

Initially domestic of the brothers Loiseau, Nestor will remain with Moulinsart when Haddock becomes owner about it. Of very neat pace, carrying a delivered , Nestor are the standard portrait of the servant. Always courteous and patient, it seems not to have any reaction. In its last appearances, its character is detached from his image of sizeable servant: he shows rather on certain occasions even racist Xénophobe. He appreciates also the whiskey of the captain and observes sometimes by the listening or keyhole behind the doors.

It declares the end of the world on Earth and creates some troubles with Tintin by treating it of envoy of the devil. It also tries to explode the polar ship Aurore with dynamite. One will know finally that it was insane which had quite simply fled of an asylum. He was also the assistant of professor Calys at the observatory. According to the Illustrated Sunflower , Philippulus would have ended up finding death while being bitten by a spider, the épeire diadem (which besides made a notable appearance in the album). It is a marshal, Dictateur of the Bordurie. It reigns of an iron hand on this country and causes serious difficulties with Tintin and its friends. Its Moustache is the symbol of its power, and it everywhere is found: logos and grills of cars, handles of doors. Even the hotel of Szohôd where descend Tintin and the Capitaine Haddock have as a name " Sznôrr" or " Zsnôrr" (of “snor” , " moustache" in Dutch, with orthography Slavist of circumstance). Many commentators find to him a physical resemblance to Stalin, but nowhere in the album it is not made allusion to unspecified political ideas, Marxist or others. Its name is a pun on " Plexiglass ". This character will go down besides never from its pedestal for us to say some more, since one does not see it in all and for only in the shape of a statue decorating the large one places of Szohôd, capital of Bordurie. The name of the city is correctly written with a Diacritic in the shape of moustache, as a circumflex accent. and the preferred swearword rallying cry of the agents edges is: “By the moustache of Plekszy-Gladz! ” . The safety of rigor (pointing out the hitlériens uses) is: “Amaïh Plekszy-Gladz! ” One learns in the Jewels from Castafiore which he pronounces a speech of a rare violence in XXIe congress of the left moustachist . This allusion strongly makes think of Stalin and the Communist party. the dictator edge reappears in Tintin and Picaros . It supports militarily the general Tapioca in its fight to be able it with the San Theodoros against the Alcazar General. It also sends to Tapioca its faithful colonel Sponsz who will be used to him as aide-de-camp

Rackham the Red is frightening a Pirate. the character is evoked by the Capitaine Haddock when he tells in Tintin the adventures of his ancestor the knight François de Hadoque. We are then at the 17th century, and the vessel the Unicorn controlled by the knight is approached in the Caribbean Sea by the fast ship of the Rackham pirate the Red. After a fierce combat, François de Hadoque is made prisoner. Rackham the Red comes then the narguer by showing him its treasure. Large and thin, it wears a wide hat with a red plumet and raises a pointed beard. Hadoque succeeds in escaping. After having killed Rackham in singular combat, it makes jump the vessel which runs with, seems it, the treasure, which Tintin and Haddock will seek in the adventure entitled the Treasury of Rackham the Red . the character of Rackham the Red was inspired with Hergé by the famous English pirate of the 18th century Jack Rackham. It helps Tintin to dismantle a traffic Opium directed by Rastapopoulos. the Maharajah of Rawajpoutalah also has a son whom his enemies will not hesitate to remove and one to fakir which astonishes Tintin by its prowesses and proves to be a comparse traffickers. Roberto Rastapopoulos (in Greek
Ροβέρτος Ρασταπόπουλος
) American Milliardaire of Greek origin is a . Any door to believe that it appears for the first time in Tintin in America in an anonymous way at the time of the reception given in the honor of Tintin at the end of its American adventures (p: 57). But one can that to say that its true appearance dates from the diptych the Cigars of the Pharaon / the blue Lotus . It would seem that he was inspired by the rich person Greek ship-owner Aristote Onássis. They meet on board the Époméo in the Cigars of the Pharaon , then in the Désert, where Rastapopoulos, director of the firm of Cinéma Cosmos Pictures, makes a film ( Haine of Arab alias The Sheik' S Hatred ). In the blue Lotus , Tintin discovers that Rastapopoulos is in fact the gang leader of traffickers of Opium which it fought and who miraculeusement survived a fall in a pit. They are found thereafter in other albums, Rastapopoulos being essential even like the sworn enemy of Tintin. In Coke in stock , with the Khemed, where under the Pseudonym “Marquis Di Gorgonzola”, Rastapopoulos delivers to the traffic Esclave S blacks. It disappears while letting accept its death under the tooth of the sharks. Their last confrontation takes place in Vol 714 for Sydney , where it tries to seize the fortune of the billionaire Laszlo Carreidas. It will disappear definitively on board… from a Flying saucer. Rastapopoulos also appears in the cartoon left to the cinema in December 1972 the lake with the sharks . It seems that, in the case of Rastapopoulos, the crime always paid, since he has a colossal fortune (which perhaps also comes from its activities of film producer). This character is completely stripped of scruples and does not hesitate to assemble the greatest plots. He can surround himself by judiciously selected accomplices, inter alia Allan Thompson. In spite of its great outdoors, he will be voluntarily ridiculed by Hergé in “Cow-boy of Luxe” (sic) in Vol 714 for Sydney , the ultimate album where he appears (he is taken along by the extraterrestrial ones in a flying saucer), drawing a feature on its image from large genius from the crime. It seems that Rastapopoulos is the mysterious Gourou Endaddine Akass in the ultimate album of Tintin Tintin and Alph-Art , according to the pages of draft. Ranko is a Gorille. Wronzoff and its accomplices makes use of this animal to frighten people of the village in order to move away it from the island. It is not afraid of nothing except Milou. Indeed, he flees as soon as this last barks. Following a fall, it will break an arm and will bind friendship with Tintin which will make gift of the animal to zoological gardens. - Rizzoto Walter (Jewels of Castafiore, Tintin and Picaros, the Black Island)

- Piotr Szut (Coke in stock - Flight 714 for Sydney)
-
It appears in Coke in stock as a pilot of Mosquito for the army of the Khemed of Bab El Ehr; it receives for mission of running the ship where Tintin and the Captain takes seat. It achieves it, but its plane is cut down by Tintin, which then collects it on its emergency raft. Called “machine gunner with flap” by the Captain Haddock - whereas it carries a life buoy around the neck - Piotr Szut is Estonian. Thing curious for a pilot about plane, it is Borgne. Its first name, “Piotr”, is Russian, and Estonian “Szut” . The intention of Hergé seems to have been to invent a name pronounced like “Zut! ” with “a strange” orthography returning to the Europe of the East (what leads besides to a small misunderstanding with the Haddock Captain at the time of their first meeting). Szut will accompany our heroes on the ship by Rastapopoulos then on the cargo liner Ramona where it helps Tintin in its naval action against the Sous-marin which tries to make disappear any proof of the traffic from Esclave S. It is in Vol 714 for Sydney that Haddock and Tintin find it by chance, with Djakarta. It then became pilot of the private jet of Laszlo Carreidas. It will share to once again them (my) adventures of Tintin and of the captain… - Siclone (Philémon) (Cigars of the Pharaon)
-
Philémon Siclone is a Egyptologist. Tintin makes its knowledge at the time of a Croisière while trying to help it to catch up with a paper about to fall to water. It is with the research of the tomb of the Pharaon Kih-Oskh and proposes in Tintin to accompany it in this research. It is very present in the first pages of the album until eleventh, where it is captured by Allan Thompson. Then Tintin finds it about the middle of the album, in India. It became Fou after having received a dart EM Poison born in the neck. - Spalling hammers (Bobby) (Tintin in America)
-
Chief of a concurrent association of gangsters of the band of Al Capone, Gangsters' Syndicate off Chicago (G.S.C.), Bobby Smiles proposes in Tintin to help it to track the godfather. After the refusal of Tintin, Bobby Smiles tries to eliminate it by drowning it in the Lake Michigan, by giving the responsability a Hired killer to remove it, while assembling the Indiens Pieds-Noirs against him, while drawing to him above with rifle, by attaching it on a way of railroad, by crushing it under rocks. But, like always, Tintin succeeds in escaping these dangers and finally manages to capture Bobby Smiles. - Sponsz (Colonel) (the Business Sunflower - Tintin and Picaros - Jewels of Castafiore)
-
He is the chief of the secret police of Bordurie. He is opposed to Tintin and Haddock for the first time in the Business Sunflower . Sponsz makes them seek actively, but those escape its men. Taken refuge with the Opera of Szohod in the cabin of the Castafiore, the two heroes manage to conceal to him papers of release of Sunflower when the colonel returns visit to the professional singer, an affront that he will never forgive them… Envoyé like adviser technical in San Theodoros, where he is called Colonel Esponja, he benefits from a visit of Bianca Castafiore to appease his revenge by inventing a plot on all parts. Once again, Tintin and Haddock leave there victorious and Sponsz is returned in Bordurie. : Beardless in Europe, it raises a short beard and a moustache in Tintin and Picaros . In the Jewels of Castafiore, the press lends an adventure with the Milanese Nightingale to him. Anecdotes the physique of Colonel Sponsz was partially inspired by that of Paul Remi, younger brother of Hergé and military career. Paul Remi child had inspired the character of Tintin before and one can notice indeed, on partially shaven cranium of Sponsz, a single wick of hair (black) resembling a houpette. In the film Grandpa made of resistance of Jean-Marie Pear in 1983, one of the characters, a German officer, is called the Spontz general, whose name could be a wink with the character of Hergé. the Boucherie Sanzot is a recurring element of band-drawn the the Adventures of Tintin and Milou . It carries the name of its owner, Mr Sanzot, minor character of the series. Having a number of Telephone very near to that of the Castle of Moulinsart - 431 for the first, 421 for the second - it is often the Capitaine Haddock, but also sometimes Nestor or Tintin which must answer the many calls which should be to him intended. These calls, which often fall in full intrigue, do not fail to exasperate the inhabitants of the castle, so much so that they lose sometimes patience with their telephone interlocutor. the name of the butcher is a Calembour: Returning Sanzot with " without os". According to the book the Daily life with Moulinsart of Thomas Sertillanges, the first name of Mr. Sanzot is Henri.
T
- Tapioca (the General ) (Tintin and Picaros)
-
It is the large rival of the general Alcazar of which he covets the presidency of the San Theodoros. Throughout the albums of Tintin, the two generals never cease seizing and taking again the power following multiples coups d'etat. Tapioca is very thus often quoted by Alcazar in various albums, but one does not see it for the first time in the last album Tintin and Picaros . It seems an infamous and cynical dictator there scorning his people. With its come to power it débaptisé the capital of San Theodoros to re-elect it in “Tapiocapolis”. At the end of the album, it is again reversed by Alcazar which unwillingly agrees to leave him the safe life following a market that it made with Tintin. - Tchang (the blue Lotus, Tintin in Tibet, Jewels of Castafiore)
-
Tchang was, if one sticks to the chronology of the albums, the first true friend (human at least…) of Tintin. It is during its voyage in China in the album the blue Lotus that Tintin saves it Noyade, at the time of a Crue of the Yang Tsé Kiang. Consequently, a deep friendship dregs. It is Tchang which, the first, makes discover in Tintin which is the Chinese. By leaving it for Europe, Tintin pours some of the very rare tears of its career… In spite of the distance, it seems that the contact was maintained. Many years later, Tintin finds it in Tintin in Tibet , again saving the life to him after a Air crash. Tchang gives last once of its news in the Jewels of Castafiore : a letter coming from London… the character of Tchang is in fact a transposition, in the fictional universe (and with obviously invented adventures), of the real character who was Zhang Chongren (sometimes transcribed Tchang Tchong-jen ), which was related to Hergé by a friendship of several decades. - Tharkey (Tintin in Tibet)
-
This Sherpa Nepalese agrees to guide Tintin and the Capitaine Haddock to the wreck of the plane in which Tchang should have found death. Thanks to its knowledge of the mountain, it is very useful for them. It tries to persuade Tintin to give up the search for Tchang in front of the difficulties and the dangers of the mountain (" You not reasonable, Sahib!. "). In front of the obstinacy of Tintin, it is solved to leave the two heroes, the first pushed by the faith in survival of Tchang and the second helped by the cognac. However, in spite of its fear of the Yéti, it does not give up Tintin and the Capitaine. Reproaching its cowardice whereas a young white risks its life " to save young boy jaune" , it makes half-turn and the their safe life. It will follow them until the Lamaserie where one can see it with the arm in scarf, after the avalanche above the monastery of Khor-Biyong, vis-a-vis the Large Invaluable one.

Allan Thompson (Cigars of the Pharaon, the Crab with the gold grips, Coke in stock, Flight 714 for Sydney)
-
It crosses the way of Tintin very early, in the Cigars of the Pharaon -- at least in the version " remake" , because it was not present in the very first one. As an accomplice of Rastapopoulos, it makes smuggling in the Red Sea. Tintin finds it in the Crab with the gold grips . Then lieutenant of the Captain Haddock on board the Karaboudjan , it exerts on him his influence with great whiskey reinforcement. Tintin releases Haddock and, in Morocco, they stop Allan and its band which adulterated opium. Allan becomes again accessory to Rastapopoulos in Coke in stock , where it orders the Ramona , transporting ship of the Esclave S. One finally finds it in Vol 714 for Sydney , whereas it is right-hand man of Rastapopoulos. Just like him, it will be taken along God knows where… Allan is the prototype of the rabble which eats with all the racks and does not respect anything except for the money.

It lives 57 bis route de Saint-Cergue with Nyon, in Switzerland. It is specialized in research on the Ultra-son S; this is why Tournesol contacts it, to inform him of a “sensational discovery” in this field. - Wronzoff (the Black Island)
-
It is the chief of the traffickers of counterfeit money, to prevent Tintin from discovering its traffic he had shown it to have stolen its wallet to him and to have struck it in a train. Its name is known as only one in the album on page 8 puts 3. It is the adjuster of the gorilla Ranko of which it is used for to terrorize the local populations and thus to move away them from the Noire island. - Igor Wagner (the Sceptre of Ottokar - the Business Sunflower - Tintin and Picaros - Jewels of Castafiore)
-
He is the pianist of Bianca Castafiore. It is an apparently dull character and of a remarkable discretion. One sees it in the Sceptre of Ottokar, the Business Sunflower, Tintin and Picaros, where it does nothing but accompany with the piano Castafiore. It leaves in fact anonymity only in the album the Jewels Castafiore , during which it is surprised by Tintin whereas it returns from the close village where it went to make Pari S on the horse-races. A sound recording diffused in its absence made accept everyone with the castle of Moulinsart which it was occupied working its ranges on its piano. One will note that the Capitaine Haddock calls once it Beethoven. - Frank Wolf (Objective the Moon - One went on the Moon)
-
Engineer associated with the Professor Tournesol, it accommodates Tintin and the Capitaine Haddock on their arrival at the Research center Atomic of Sbrodj in Syldavie (where the Professor works). In One went on the Moon , one learns that he is actually a traitor having made it possible Jorgen to infiltrate aboard rocket. Once on the moon, it helps even the latter to give up all the companions of Tintin on the spot, which the two accomplices will not manage to do thanks to a providential intervention of Tintin. However, Wolf is not so bad. It is learned first of all that its treason is the fruit of an odious blackmail. Later, it kills Jorgen accidentally, while wanting to prevent it from killing Tintin and its companions. Then, taken remorse for all that it subjected to Tintin and its friends, it sacrifices while jumping in space, thus making it possible the crew of the rocket not to miss air. Of all the characters of the adventures of Tintin, it is only the " gentil" who dies. Adaptations *Dans the animated adaptation the Adventures of Tintin, according to Hergé of Belvision, Wolf remains alive, like Jorgen, and they are brought back on Earth to be delivered to the police force, although the heroes show recognition with Wolf to be itself turned over against Jorgen. *Dans the Adventures of Tintin of 1991, Wolf undergoes the same destiny as in the cartoon, like Jorgen. Whereas he spoke about a timid voice a little fluette without accent in the adaptation of Belvision, he has a more serious voice here and speaks with a strong apparently Eastern-European accent.

- Zorrino (the Temple of the Sun)
-
Zorrino is a young Indian Quechua, commercial orange peddler in the town of Jauga. Tintin meets it by chance at the time of its vain research to find the professor Tournesol and defends it against the intrigues of two rough. Following this beautiful gesture, Zorrino will agree to lead Tintin to the Temple of the Sun, place where the professor is retained.
