It is the son of the emir Ben Kalish Ezab who plays of the rotten tricks with Tintin and especially with the Capitaine Haddock, often containing Pétard S. the Alcazar general is a heavy smoker of Cigare S. He also likes to play failures and it is an excellent launcher of daggers. It is a man rather not very scrupulous, since he does not hesitate to make the traffic of planes or to declare the war for economic interests. Of a temperament rather coleric, the only person in front of whom Alcazar trembles is… his Peggy wife. Origines
the name of “Jean-Wolf of Shipping” was inspired at the time (1962) of that of the young journalist and novelist Jean-Loup Dabadie, a journalist who carries out us in boat.
Hergé had created these characters of journalists after being interviewed by Paris-Match and to have found whimsical the report of maintenance.

Whereas a storm bursts, the lightning is introduced into the house and makes disappear the mummy. In the night, Bergamotte starts to be delirious and Tintin discovers crystal glares close to its bed. Bergamotte is in its turn reached by the curse. It is in the garden of its house that, the following day, Tournesol is removed by mysterious criminals after having passed to his wrist the bracelet of the mummy.
Bergamotte will leave its lethargy, like its six other fellow-members, thanks to Tintin which, in the Temple of the Sun , obtains from the chief of Incas that it puts an end to the curse which fell down on the seven explorers.
Inspirations
the house of professor Bergamotte, illustrated in a way very detailed in the album, was drawn by Hergé according to sketches carried out in the years 1940 by Edgar P. Jacobs, his/her collaborator at the time. To represent outside, Jacobs took model on a residence located in the surroundings of the house where Hergé placed, and which had been requisitioned by German officers of occupation.
Located at Watermael-Boitsfort, close to Brussels, in Belgium, this residence is always visible today. It is a powerful financier who directs the bank Bohlwinkel de Sao Rico. It would wish to put the hand on the aerolite fallen into the Arctic Ocean because this one consists of an unknown metal named Calystène (overdraft by Professor Calys). In the original version, he was a “powerful financier of New York” named “Blumenstein”, whose features correspond to the caricatures anti-semites (large hooked nose, thick lips…) that one then found the every day in the press. In the new version, it preserves the same features but changes name and is at another place. As inhabitant of Brussels, “bollewinkel” - that Hergé spelled “Bohlwinkel” to change a little - means “small shop of confectionery”. However, the difference between the two names seems at the very least minor, because, just like “Blumenstein”, “Bohlwinkel” are a Jewish name. Tintin meets it first once in the Sceptre of Ottokar . It is called then colonel Boris and it is the aide-de-camp of its majesty the king of Syldavie, Muskar XII.
But it acts, actually, of a treacherous , of which the single goal is to take possession of the sceptre of Ottokar and thus to reverse Muskar XII of its throne. Tintin will finally manage to thwart this plot in extremis.
Then one finds it in One went on the Moon (after having seen it, very briefly, in Objectif the Moon ). It carries, this time, its true name, Jorgen . It takes seat in the rocket secretly going on the moon in the only intention killing Tintin and thus being avenged for this first affront. But he will not hesitate to try to kill all the companions of Tintin. Finally, it will find death while fighting with Frank Wolf, its ex-accomplice. Its body will be thrown in space. It is monumental mason. For this reason the Capitaine Haddock requests his services, so that it repairs a walk of the staircases of the Château of Moulinsart

Morbid (he sneezes and carries constantly a scarf), cheater (when he plays naval battle against the Haddock captain), disrespectful towards his personnel (who plots against him), he does not show an positive image of the billionaire. It is the chambermaid (chambermaid) of Bianca Castafiore.

According to Hergé itself: “ Lampion exists to thousands of specimens: it is the type even of Brussels. (...) One generally recognizes the Inhabitant of Brussels belgicain with the fact that it carries, at the same time, a belt and straps… ”
Lampion, employee of a company of insurances, is a character more " moderne" that the preceding recurring characters of Tintin, who had more obsolete and less realistic occupations (Haddock the captain with the long course, Tournesol the distracted scientist, etc).
In the animated series the adventures of Tintin , Lampion appears earlier. Indeed, if its first appearance in the data base is in the album the business Tournesol , in the cartoon it already appears in the Seven Crystal balls .
These two antique dealers are the owners of the Château of Moulinsart - in the Secrecy of the Unicorn - until this one is repurchased by the Capitaine Haddock in the following album, the Treasury of Rackham the Red .
They are the adversaries of Tintin and Haddock in the treasure hunt of Rackham the Red. Not very scrupulous
, they do not hesitate to remove Tintin or to try to assassinate one their former accomplices having betrayed them. Misled by this man, who loses consciousness in his arms, Tintin believes one moment that they are called “Sparrow”.
Finally, they are made both stop by the police force at the end of the album. Then, at the beginning of the following album, one learns that they are escaped of prison. In spite of that, they do not intervene in the adventure. In the animated adaptation the Adventures of Tintin, according to Hergé , they intervene.
the first name of the second brother Loiseau, Gustave, does not rest on any verifiable data. Seul Maxime is mentioned in the albums of Hergé and the first letter of the second brother, is " G" also appears.

Initially domestic of the brothers Loiseau, Nestor will remain with Moulinsart when Haddock becomes owner about it. Of very neat pace, carrying a delivered , Nestor are the standard portrait of the servant. Always courteous and patient, it seems not to have any reaction.

the character is evoked by the Capitaine Haddock when he tells in Tintin the adventures of his ancestor the knight François de Hadoque. Philémon Siclone is a Egyptologist.

It is the large rival of the general Alcazar of which he covets the presidency of the San Theodoros.

the character of Tchang is in fact a transposition, in the fictional universe (and with obviously invented adventures), of the real character who was Zhang Chongren (sometimes transcribed Tchang Tchong-jen ), which was related to Hergé by a friendship of several decades.
  • Tharkey (Tintin in Tibet)
This Sherpa Nepalese agrees to guide Tintin and the Capitaine Haddock to the wreck of the plane in which Tchang should have found death. Thanks to its knowledge of the mountain, it is very useful for them.
It tries to persuade Tintin to give up the search for Tchang in front of the difficulties and the dangers of the mountain (" You not reasonable, Sahib!. "). It crosses the way of Tintin very early, in the Cigars of the Pharaon -- at least in the version " remake" , because it was not present in the very first one. As an accomplice of Rastapopoulos, it makes smuggling in the Red Sea.
Tintin finds it in the Crab with the gold grips . Then lieutenant of the Captain Haddock on board the Karaboudjan , it exerts on him his influence with great whiskey reinforcement. Tintin releases Haddock and, in Morocco, they stop Allan and its band which adulterated opium.
Allan becomes again accessory to Rastapopoulos in Coke in stock , where it orders the Ramona , transporting ship of the Esclave S.
One finally finds it in Vol 714 for Sydney , whereas it is right-hand man of Rastapopoulos. Just like him, it will be taken along God knows where…
Allan is the prototype of the rabble which eats with all the racks and does not respect anything except for the money.

He is the pianist of Bianca Castafiore.

One sees it in the Sceptre of Ottokar, the Business Sunflower, Tintin and Picaros, where it does nothing but accompany with the piano Castafiore. It leaves in fact anonymity only in the album the Jewels Castafiore , during which it is surprised by Tintin whereas it returns from the close village where it went to make Pari S on the horse-races. A sound recording diffused in its absence made accept everyone with the castle of Moulinsart which it was occupied working its ranges on its piano.
One will note that the Capitaine Haddock calls once it Beethoven.
  • Frank Wolf (Objective the Moon - One went on the Moon)
Engineer associated with the Professor Tournesol, it accommodates Tintin and the Capitaine Haddock on their arrival at the Research center Atomic of Sbrodj in Syldavie (where the Professor works).
In One went on the Moon , one learns that he is actually a traitor having made it possible Jorgen to infiltrate aboard rocket. Once on the moon, it helps even the latter to give up all the companions of Tintin on the spot, which the two accomplices will not manage to do thanks to a providential intervention of Tintin.
However, Wolf is not so bad. It is learned first of all that its treason is the fruit of an odious blackmail. Later, it kills Jorgen accidentally, while wanting to prevent it from killing Tintin and its companions. Then, taken remorse for all that it subjected to Tintin and its friends, it sacrifices while jumping in space, thus making it possible the crew of the rocket not to miss air.
Of all the characters of the adventures of Tintin, it is only the " gentil" who dies.
Adaptations
*Dans the animated adaptation the Adventures of Tintin, according to Hergé of Belvision, Wolf remains alive, like Jorgen, and they are brought back on Earth to be delivered to the police force, although the heroes show recognition with Wolf to be itself turned over against Jorgen.
*Dans the Adventures of Tintin of 1991, Wolf undergoes the same destiny as in the cartoon, like Jorgen. Whereas he spoke about a timid voice a little fluette without accent in the adaptation of Belvision, he has a more serious voice here and speaks with a strong apparently Eastern-European accent.

  • Zorrino (the Temple of the Sun)
Zorrino is a young Indian Quechua, commercial orange peddler in the town of Jauga. Tintin meets it by chance at the time of its vain research to find the professor Tournesol and defends it against the intrigues of two rough. Following this beautiful gesture, Zorrino will agree to lead Tintin to the Temple of the Sun, place where the professor is retained.
