List bishops of Ruremonde

Short history

Évêché of Ruremonde on May 12th 1559 was founded. The first bishop was named by the Pape on August 8th 1561. July 22nd 1794, the bishop flees its évêché in front of the projection of the French Army. By the Legal settlement of July 15th 1801 and the papal bubble of November 26th 1801, évêché was removed. It was restored only on March 4th 1853.

31.03. 1569 - 07.06. 1588: Guillaume Damasi Van der Linden (alias Lindanus). It was then bishop of Ghent.
07.06. 1588 - 09.08. 1596: Sedes vacat .
09.08. 1596 - 07.10. 1609: Henri van Cuyk (alias Cuyckius) (the first date corresponds to its installation). It is deceased the 7 or perhaps on October 9th 1609.
07.10. 1609 - 19.05 - 1611: Sedes vacat .
19.05. 1611 - 24.02. 1639: Jacques van den Borgh (alias Castro has).
24.02. 1639 - 10.08. 1651: Sedes vacat .
10.08. 1651 - 07.05. 1657: Andre Cruesen (or Creusen) (it remained in place until the 7 or perhaps at May 4th 1657). It became then archbishop Malignant.
07.05. 1657 - 11.06. 1659: Sedes vacat .
11.06. 1659 - 04.07. 1666: Eugene Albertus d' Allamont . It was then bishop of Ghent.
04.07.1666 - 03.10.1672: Sedes vacat .
03.10. 1672 - 25.08. 1673: Ladislas de Gottignies .
07.01. 1677 - 12.06. 1700: Réginald Cools . It was then bishop of Antwerp.
27.12. 1701 - 09.04. 1722: Angelus of Ongnies and Estrées .
09.04. 1722 - 11.08. 1741: François Louis Sanguessa (already bishop of Utica, in partibus).
11.08. 1741 - 01.01. 1744: Sedes vacat .
01.01. 1744 - 12.03. 1746: Joseph Anselme François Werbrouck (the first date corresponds to its installation). It was then bishop of Antwerp.
13.06. 1746 - 28.06. 1769: Jean Antoine de Robiano (the first date corresponds to its installation).
22.05. 1770 - 03.05. 1774: Henri Joseph Kerens (it remained until after May 3rd 1774). It was then bishop of Wiener Neustadt.
30.10. 1775 - 17.04. 1793: Philippe Damien de Hoensbroeck (the first date corresponds to its installation).
03.07. 1794 - 24.11. 1801: Jean Baptist Robert van Velde de Melroy and Sart-Bomal (it was deposited following the suppression of évêché).
