By a bubble gone back to Avignon, the August 13rd 1317, the pope Jean XXII created the diocese of Condom, which was attached to the metropolis of Bordeaux. This diocese was at the south of the the Garonne and was bordered in north by the diocese of Agen, in south-east by the Liste of the bishops of Lectoure, in south-west by the diocese of Auch and in the west by the diocese of Bazas. The abbot of Saint-Pierre de Condom became the first bishop and the monks became the canons of the chapter cathédral, among which two Archidiacre S: Condom and Nérac. It included/understood 130 parishes.
The civil Constitution, creating a diocese of the Gers, removed that of Condom which was absorbed by the new district. The February 13rd 1791, the electoral assembly of the Gers elected Paul-Benoit Barthe constitutional bishop. List of the bishops

- Jean de Bilhères-Lagraulas and Amanieu d' Albret, administrators, did not take possession of the seat.
- 1497 - 1521: Jean Enough. With his death, the pope names François of the Mill of Rochefort, but this one yields its rights to the elected official of the chapter.

- 1669 - 1671: Jacques-Benign Bossuet
- 1671 - 1693: Jacques de Goyon of Matignon, resigns his load to the profit of the following
- 1693: Mathieu-Isaure d' Hervaut, transferred to Turns the same year
- 1693 - 1734: Louis Milon
- 1735 - 1758: Emmanuel of Thimble-Brissac, abbot of Fontfroide, diocese of Narbonne
- 1758 - 1760: Louis-Joseph of Montmorency-Laval, abbot of Holy-Cross of Bordeaux, bishop of Orleans then of Condom in 1758, resigner in 1760
- 1760 - 1763: Etienne-Charles de Loménie de Brienne, transferred to Toulouse
- 1763 - 1792: Alexandre-César d' Anterroches, exiles with London the September 15th 1792, and dies there the January 28th 1793
