List of the bishops and archbishops of Thirty

In 1027, the emperor entrusts the county of Thirty, as well as the counties of Botzen and Vintschgau, with the bishop of Thirty and sets up the principality thus formed in immediate principality of the Holy roman Empire.

In 1801, the prince-bishops lose the city and its dependences of the the Tyrol, which are secularized and incorporated in the Austria.

In 1929, the diocese is set up in archbishop's palace.
