List of the archbishops of Cotonou

The apostolic prefecture of the Dahomey is created on June 26th 1883 per detachment of the apostolic vicariate of Bay of Benign the, which had itself as a denomination before this same that of apostolic vicariate of Dahomey.

It is set up in apostolic vicariate of the Dahomey on May 25th 1901.

This one changes denomination on May 13rd 1948 to become the apostolic vicariate of Ouidah.

This last exchange of denomination and is set up in archbishop's palace Bénin ois of Cotonou on September 14th 1955.

1883 - 1888: Ernest-Marie Domestic , apostolic prefect of the Dahomey.
1888 - 1895: Louis Ier Lecron , apostolic prefect of the Dahomey.

Then are apostolic vicars

May 25th 1901 August -3 1905: Louis-Auguste Dartois , apostolic vicar of the Dahomey.
May 20th 1906 November -12 1934: François Steinmetz , apostolic vicar of the Dahomey.
March 11th 1935 September -14 1955: Louis II Parisot , apostolic vicar of the Dahomey, then of Ouidah (1948).
