List Italian national parks
The national parks consist of zones terrestrial, marine, river or lake which contain one or more ecosystem S intact or partially deteriorated by anthropic interventions, one or more formations physical, geological, geomorphological, biological, of national interest or international, whose value naturalist, scientist, cultural, esthetic, educational or entertaining justify the intervention of the State for their conservation
In Italy, the national parks currently mentioned again in the official list of the protected areas ( Elenco Ufficiale delle Aree Protette - EUAP) are 22, plus two others in the course of definition. The 22 Italian national parks cover overall a surface from approximately 1,4 million Hectare S, that is to say approximately 5% of the national territory.
