List French senators

List of the French senators , after the renewal of the September 26th 2004.

The Constitutional council, in a decision of the November 26th 2004, cancelled the senatorial election in the Département of the Low-Rhine.

Renewal

the series B was renewed for the last time at the time of the senatorial election of 2001.
the series C was renewed for the last time at the time of the senatorial election of 2004. By drawing lot, half of the seats of the series C were allotted to future series 1 for mandates some six years (seven years thanks to the carryforwards of elections), the other part allotted to future series 2 for mandates some nine years (ten years thanks to the carryforwards of elections).
the series has will be renewed for the last time at the time of the senatorial election of 2008. The election was initially envisaged in 2007, but was exceptionally deferred by a decision of the constitutional council in 2004, to avoid a too large number of polls in 2007.
the series 1 will be renewed for the first time at the time of the senatorial election of 2011, following the end of mandate of the senators of the series B elected in 2001 per nine years, and of the senators of the first part of the series C elected in 2004 per six years.
the series 2 will be renewed for the first time at the time of the senatorial election of 2014, following the end of mandate of the senators of the series elected in 2008 per six years, and of the senators of the second part of the series C elected in 2004 per nine years.
