Lipofuscine

The lipofuscine is a cellular Pigment composed of remains of Molécule S. It appears in the cells of the elderly. It is probable that the lipofuscine is not only one consequence of ageing but that it contributes to it. The Neuron S, the Heart and the Peau of the elderly contain particularly large quantities of lipofuscine. One also finds some in sweat at people who present a Chromhydrose.

This pigment also intervenes in the coloring of the iris of certain green eyes.

Certain studies show that the use of the Diméthylaminoéthanol (DMAE) could reduce the production of lipofuscine.
