Lion-on-Sea
Lion-on-Sea is a common French, located in the department of the Calvados and the area Basse-Normandie.
Its inhabitants are called the Lionnais .
Geography
The commune of Lion-on-Sea is located at the edge of the Manche, more precisely on the Côte of Mother-of-pearl, to approximately 15 km in the North of Caen.The beach consists of fine Sable and, in the West, is bordered by Falaise S of intermediate size.
The city is served by line 1 of the Green Bus of the Apple-brandy and by line 62 of the buses Twisto.
History
- June 6th 1944: Unloading British soldiers. Lion-on-sea belonged to the sector of Sword Beach.
