Linguistic Continuum
See also: Continuum
In Sociolinguistique, one speaks about linguistic continuum when two or several Langue S or different Dialecte S mix without one being able to define to them of geographical limit.
For example, on the two sides of the border between the Netherlands and the Germany, the frontier ones speak an identical language. They are included/understood without problem, and would be even unable, by sticking only to the language, to determine whether another person of the surroundings is German or Dutchwoman. However, the Germans at this place say speech " allemand" , and the Netherlanders " néerlandais" , therefore for the sociolinguistique one they speak about the different languages.
One all over the world finds many of other examples of that.
