Xiaoyu appears as of Tekken 3 as being a standard Japanese teenager (in spite of the fact that it is Chinese). She is rêveuse, naive, eccentric and very infantile. Moreover, to return its character even more amusing, Namco equipped it with an pet, a Panda named Panda, which follows it in all its adventures. Very quickly, several accustomed series quickly forsook their characters preferred against this fighting a little extravangante.

Ling Xiaoyu is characterized by its two feather beds and its school uniform which return in each Tekken. It is secretly in love with Jin Kazama.
