Line of bus STAS

The network of the STAS (Saint-Etienne Métropole is 43 communes around Saint-Etienne) consists of:

2 tram lines forming three branches (Northern Hospital, Châteaucreux and Solaure)
2 lines of trolley bus (a transversal Michon/Terrenoire and radial Cotonne Town hall)
41 lines of bus for the zone Large Saint-Etienne
12 lines of bus for the zone Large Gier
2 lines crossing the two zones
4 lines of FOR THE THIRD TIME managed by the Rhone-Alps area with step Oùra .

Tram

There exist two lines of tram which circulate on the communes of St Etienne and Saint-Priest-in-Jarez. Together, the lines ensure nearly 50% of the traffic. True backbone of the network, the tram inhabitant of Saint-Etienne surveys main street (line 4) on close to 8km. In October 2006, the new line of tram, line 5 makes it possible to join the station of Châteaucreux (district in full revival become pole multimode) to the Northern and Southern district of the city by the center town (new section) to take again then the ways of line 4.

Firminy and the Valley of Ondaine

This part of the network (FIRMINY, the CHAMBON-FEUGEROLLES, the RICAMARIE, UNIEUX, CUTTERS and SAINT-PAUL-EN-CORNILLON) is organized out of star around FIRMINY. The multimode pole of the Station of FIRMINY pemet to connect SAINT-ETIENNE to FIRMINY (by the cities of the valley of Ondaine) in 10 minutes compared with 30 minutes by the line 1 (backbone of the network) or the line 26 (which directly connects néamnoins the center inhabitant of Saint-Etienne town to FIRMINY).
