Line Nançois-Tronville - Neufchâteau

The line 24 ³ (classification the SNCF), in the past line 20 (classification Is), of Nançois - Tronville with Neufchâteau with Pagny-on-Meuse, serves the valley of the Ornain and connects Bar-le-Duc to Neufchâteau.

A connection existed around Gondrecourt-the-Castle: the connection of Gondrecourt n°1 allowing to go from Joinville (line 245) to Neufchâteau (line 24 ³) and reciprocally, avoiding graining in station of Gondrecourt-the-Castle differently necessary. This connection with double track was a length of 2059m.

Another connection existed around Gondrecourt-the-Castle: the connection of Gondrecourt n°2 allowing to go from Nançois-Tronville (line 24 ³) to Sorcy (line 245) and reciprocally, avoiding graining in station of Gondrecourt-the-Castle differently necessary. This connection with double track was a length of??? Mr.

A flyover existed around Neufchâteau: the connection of Neufchâteau allowing to go from Gondrecourt-the-Castle (line 24 ³) to Toul (line 15) or Mirecourt (line 24) and reciprocally without shearing the convoys moving of Bologna (line 24) or Merrey (line 15) towards Pagny-on-Meuse (line 247) or Toul (line 15) and reciprocally. This flyover with double track was a length of 1996m and passed under the ways of the lines 15 and 24 to the south of Neufchâteau.

  • December 10th, 1869: Concession of the line of local interest of Nançois-Tronville with Gondrecourt-the-Castle with Mr. Delloye-Tiberghien; exploitation by the Company of the Railroads of the East.
  • November 6th, 1872: Declaration of public utility of the line of Nançois-Tronville with Gondrecourt-the-Castle.
  • October 15th, 1875: Opening to the service goods of Nançois-Tronville - Gondrecourt-the-Castle.
  • November 15th, 1875: Opening to the service travellers of Nançois-Tronville - Gondrecourt-the-Castle.
  • December 31st, 1875: Declaration of public utility of the line of Gondrecourt-the-Castle with Neufchâteau.
  • August 23rd, 1880: Section Gondrecourt-the-Castle - Neufchâteau leased with the Company of the Railroads of the East.
  • September 11th, 1880: Startup of Gondrecourt-the-Castle - Neufchâteau.
  • June 20th, 1881: The Nançois-Tronville section - Gondrecourt-the-Castle is declared of general interest.
  • June 11th, 1883: Concession of the whole line Nançois-Tronville - Neufchâteau with the Company of the Railroads of the East (Is).
  • 1887: Setting with double track of the Nançois-Tronville section - Gondrecourt-the-Castle.
  • January 1938: Is just the National company of the railroads French.
  • March 3rd, 1969: End of the service travellers on all the line and of the service goods between Sionne-Midrevaux and Large-Avranville.
  • July 5th, 1971: End of the service goods between Neufchâteau and Sionne-Midrevaux and Large-Avranville and Dainville.
  • January 14th, 1972: Downgrading of the section Neufchâteau - Sionne-Midrevaux.
  • July 26th, 1973: Downgrading of the Large-Avranville section - Dainville.
  • December 16th, 1973: End of the service goods between Gondrecourt-the-Castle and Dainville.
  • February 18th, 1976: Downgrading of the section Gondrecourt-the-Castle - Dainville.

Complements

The north of the line, between Nançois-Tronville and Gondrecourt-the-Castle, is exploited under the mode of the single track with restricted traffic (VUTR), primarily for the transport of cereals.
