Layout and exploitation
As a whole, the layout of this line of 139 kilometers parallel to the Manche is favorable. However, in its center section, the depression of the Pays of Bray obliges with a layout a little more sinuous for a few tens of kilometers. The line does not meet any important station between its two ends, and the two radial ones that it crosses to Serqueux and Abancourt (respectively the lines Paris-Dieppe and Paris it Tréport) is of low importance.
The line was electrified in 1984 in alternative course 25 Kv, and BAPR was installed on the line, offering conditions of satisfactory operatings compared to the traffic of this line.
Traffic
One of the characteristics of this line is the role of the traffic of freight, much more important than that of travellers. Indeed, in 1992-1993, this transversal permetait the daily transport of 8000 tons goods, including 60% in the Amiens-Rouen direction. This importance of the traffic freight is explained by the industrial importance of the two regions linked by this line, and the presence Rouen side of the harbor unit Rouen - Le Havre. On the contrary, the movement of travellers is as a whole weak: in 1992-1993, only 1000 travellers took the trains which traverse this line
