The line 24⁷ (classification the SNCF), in the past line 47 (classification Is), of Neufchâteau to Pagny-on-Meuse, serves the high valley of the Meuse.

A connection existed around Pagny-on-Meuse: the connection of Pagny-on-Meuse allowing to go from Vaucouleurs (line 24⁷) to Nancy (line 1) and reciprocally, avoiding graining in station of Pagny-on-Meuse differently necessary. This connection with double track was a length of 636m.

The origin of the km No of the line is with the junction of the lines 4 and 15, close to Culmont - Chalindrey.
