History
Towards the end of the year 1860, a group made up of industrialists of the metallurgy and foresters originating in Rambervillers constitute the Compagnie of the railroad of Rambervillers with Charmes in order to connect their city to the line 16 connecting Nancy and Épinal. Having obtained the concession of the line, the company entrusts its exploitation to the company of the East. In 1870, following the war free-Prussian, the service is stopped and begins again with the autumn 1871.Once the town of Rambervillers connected to Heathers (1902) then with Rambervillers (1911) by the line 237 serving the valley of the Mortagne, the line 16 ³ loses most of its interest. In 1914, three daily bus return tickets circulate on the line.
January 1st, 1934, the exploitation is leased by the East with the Compagnie of the secondary railroads of the North-East. The service is restricted with two bus return tickets and a goods train daily newspapers. Nevertheless, since 1935, the passenger traffic is deferred on road, the goods traffic disappears in 1939, except on the section Charmes - Glassmaking-of Portieux, preserved until 1962 for the service road of the glassmaking, as a particular junction of the station of Charms.
Complements
The line 16 ³ is completely removed iron, but the platform is still largely visible by places, where it acts as forest road. Only the buildings of the stations of Glassmaking-of-Portieux, Rehaincourt and the passage to level-halt of Portieux testify to its existence.
