Limoges FC is a club of Football French founded in 1947 by fusion. The club of president Gerard Segalat evolves/moves in 2007-2008 in Division of Honor after being relegated of CFA2 (D5) to spring 2007.

History
In 1917, Georges Verju, Limougeaud of origin and player of the Red Star pre-war period, found Red Star Limoges. The local rival of Red Star Limoges is the University Athletic Section of Limoges going back to 1906. This last seems to take the ascending one in 1929 following a criminal murky story implying of the players of Red Star…In 1934, the SAUL is renamed Star the Limousin Université Club (SLUC) while Red Star becomes Athletic Red Star of Limoges. In 1943, the SLUC becomes the Athletic Sporting union of Limoges.
Fusion between the two clubs takes place the May 31st 1947 to put at the world Limoges Football Club. The LFC poses first once its candidature for the professional statute in 1954 but must await 1957 to pass pro. The LFC evolves/moves then at the Municipal Stage being able to accommodate 14.000 spectators. After some alteration work, the record of multitude of the stage is carried to 17.592 paying spectators at the time of the visit of the Stade of Rheims in 1960.
Pierre Flamion is named trainer of the occupational class in 1957. Under its direction, the club is promoted in D1 as of 1958. Limoges manages to be maintained three seasons with the more high level before knowing relegation.
After having passed more than twenty seasons in D2 and four in D3 of 1973 with 1977, the LFC files for bankruptcy in June 1987 for a debt cumulated of more than five franc million. The club sets out again then in D4 under its current name: Limoges Foot 87.
In 2007, arrived of new President, Gerard Knight, dismiss it FC launches out in a phase of rebuilding in order to find a honourable row. After a descent in DH, the task is not easy. It should be hoped that the arrival of this new man to the head of the reds and white announces a better future. Good lucks with them.
