Limetz-Villez
Limetz-Villez is a common department of the Yvelines, in the area Île-de-France, in France, located at approximately 24 km in the North-West of Mantes-the-Pretty.
The name of “Limetz” would come from Latin, files , border. A second assumption would tend to say that Limetz would come from the word " mas" compared to the residence Gallo Roman found on the territory of the commune, largest if it is not one of largest of the area.
But the continuous debate…
The inhabitants are usually called Carcaïens (name of a Roman general Carcaïus ).
Geography
It is a rural district located at the confluence of the Seine and Epte, in an alluvial plain.The commune is bordering on Gommecourt in the east, Giverny and Holy-Genevieve-the-Gasny in north and on Bennecourt in south-east. She is separated from Port-Villez and Jeufosse by the the Seine in the west.
To the variation of the main roads, it is connected to the common neighbors by secondary roads.
History

- Gallo-Roman Presence, a villa of Ier century a. J. - C. was discovered there with beginning of the year 80 explored during ten years approximately the site of great importance was " stopped " by lack of means.
