Limagrain
Limagrain is a Semencier French, installed with Chappes, close to Clermont-Ferrand in the Puy-de-Dôme. Founded in 1942, it is today the world number four of the sector behind Pioneer Hi-Bred, Monsanto and Syngenta.
Equipped with a statute of Co-operative gathering approximately 600 farmer, it employs close to 6 000 people in the world.
Creator and producer of plant varieties, group co-operative independent, Limagrain markets seeds intended to the farmers, to the market-gardeners and for the gardeners amateurs. The Group prolongs and develops this know-how on the market of the ingredients, the bread and the products of garden.
In last date, the French group seed-bearer associates one of its subsidiary companies (Corn angevin) with the seed-bearer group Advanta and of this fact a new seed-bearer company absorbs what, on a side, tiny room in France in particular competition in a dominating field for agriculture, on another side reinforces the company vis-a-vis its international competitors, in particular American (Monsanto, Pioneer…).
