Lily Laskine
Lily Laskine , born the August 31st 1893 in Paris and dead the January 4th 1988 in this same city, buried with the Parisian Cemetery of Saint-Ouen, is a French Harpiste of Russian origin .
She is born in a family of music lovers and musicians. After a test with the Piano, Lily, still young, puts themselves at the Harpe and repeats six hours per day. In 1904, it enters to the Conservatoire of Paris. It obtains its first prices with 11 and 13 years. During the First World War, it is also interested in the song and the dance like with the harmony. At 16 years, it enters to the Opéra as a harpist; it is then the first allowed woman in the orchestra. In 1934, it becomes harpist soloist of the National orchestra of France to its creation. It is sheltered during the Second world war with the Château Pastré with Marseilles as of many Jews which tried to leave France.
Its career will know a new dash in the years 1950 with its collaboration with the firm of Erato discs of which it will become the appointed harpist. Its discs will make the round the world tour and it is in company of his/her friend Jean-Pierre Rampal that it will record the famous Concerto for flute and toothing-stone of Mozart with the orchestra of Jean-François Paillard.
Parallel to all these occupations, it is also professor of toothing-stone, in particular with the Academy of 1948 with 1958, and records film musics and discs with singers of variety. She also plays for the Comédie-Française during more than 30 years.
There exists an international contest of Lily-Laskine toothing-stone since 1993 including/understanding a Grand Prix and a price junior. He knew 5 editions until 2005.
