Lilli Gruber

Dietlinde Gruber , born with Bolzano the April 19th 1957), is a Journaliste and political woman Italy.

After having presented during years TG1 , the Tv news 20 hours of the first Italian chain, it sits from now on at the the European Parliament.

The journalist

Grown in Egna/Neumarkt, in province of Bolzano and graduate in languages and foreign literatures with Venice, it begins its professional life with Bolzano/Bozen, initially with the local chain Telebolzano , in following of the SPOKE, the Italian Public service, in the regional drafting German-speaking and then in regional drafting italophone.

Thereafter, the director of TG2 , the newspaper of the second channel of the public service, invites it to deal with foreign politics. By presenting the edition of 20:00 of TG1 , the tv news of RaiUno , more followed in all the country, it becomes one of the most known faces to the country. For TG1 it also follows historical event of importance as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the war to Iraq.

Occasionally, Lilli Gruber also carried out emissions for German private channels , among which the magazine FocusTV on ProSieben realized in partnership with the Hebdomadaire Focus.

At present, it gave up audio-visual journalism for this concentrating on its political activity. It is however occasional collaborator of the Italian daily newspapers Stampa and Corriere beyond Will be .

Political activity

Critical compared to the management of the SPOKE at the time of the government of center-right guided by Silvio Berlusconi, it decides to leave the public service to introduce to the European elections in the lists of Olivier wanted by Romano Prodi. Elected with more than one million personal preferences, it is registered with the parliamentary group of the European Socialist party.

It is from now on president of the Delegation for the relations with the countries of the Gulf, and is Member of the Commission for the civil liberties, justice, and the interior matters, and of the Delegation for the relations with the Iran.
