Lille Comics Festival
The Lille Comics Festival takes place the first weekend from November to Lille. Created in 2006 by association Art THEMIS, it aims impassioned Anglo-Saxon cartoons initially (the Comics) but also attaches a certain importance to the Franco-Belgian school and the Manga. In addition to, the dedications, it makes it possible to supplement its collections thanks to the presence of salesmen old, and the sometimes rare ones, numbers. It is it should be noted that there was a precedent on the metropolis inhabitant of Lille in 1989 and 1990, at the time of the festival organized by Jean Wacquet, which accommodated for the first time in France of the authors of comics.
Place
The festival takes place in full heart of the Vieux-Lille. Many visitors also come from Great Britain, Belgium, Netherlands and of Germany because of frontier position and of the situation of node of highway communications of Lille. The festival has also the advantage of being “close” of three large European capitals thanks to the Eurostar (with 1:20 of London, 35mn of Brussels and 1:00 of Paris).
Events and Animations
In 2007, for the first time, the Prix Seth Fisher (named thus in homage to the draftsman Seth Fisher) was decreed with Alan Davis for the whole of its work. Moreover, Lille Comics Festival is punctuated by multiple animations: exposures, interviews, conferences, demonstrations, tournament of video games centered on the Superman and workshops of drawings for the children. He also makes it possible to make known works known, and others less, resulting from detached houses and to seize the importance of this Média as a provider of freedom of expression in the United States.
