Liliane Bettencourt (born Liliane Henriette Charlotte Schueller) was born saturdays October 21st 1922 with Paris (VIIe) from Eugene Schueller and Louis Madeleine Berthe Doncieux.
Married to Andre Bettencourt (1919-2007) and mother of Francoise Bettencourt Meyers (born the July 10th 1953) it also has two grandchildren.
Trainee at L'Oreal as of 1937, it will be the heiress with the death of his father in 1957. With her husband, it creates the December 22nd 1987 the Foundation Bettencourt Schueller, one of the foundations best equipped with France (but also one of most discrete).
The richest woman of France, it divides in particular the capital of Oréal with the Swiss group Nestlé of which it is also shareholder since an exchange of capital carried out little before the death of Georges Pompidou, close friend of Bettencourt. This participation was since 1974 through a holding called GESPARAL, it is since February 2004 on line.
According to the edition of the daily newspaper Le Monde of the July 7th 2005, the direct participation held by Liliane Bettencourt in L'Oreal makes of it the second fortune of France, with some 11,669 billion euros. (List of the billionaires of the world).
Its fortune, in 2007, is estimated by Forbes at 20.7 billion dollars.
