Like Toy Soldiers

Like Toy Soldiers is a song of Eminem present on the album Encore . In this title, the rappor of Detroit explains that the rappeurs are like pawns, tin soldiers ( Toy Soldiers ) directed by the recording companies which must go to in war against of other rappeurs in order to selling more CD, which is often finished by the death of several of them. Eminem wants to put an end to violence between rappeurs and labels, inter alia avoiding the death of one of its close relations: “ That somebody is made kill forever be my goal/Pourquoi would please I destroy something that I helped to build ? ” (referring to the rise of its label of Rap).

A premonitory clip

In the clip, the rappor Proof - better friend of Eminem - plays the part of the victim of the consequences of these wars in the Hip Hop medium and appears there dying, in the service of the urgencies of a hospital. Clip visionary since the fiction will become reality a few months later, when Proof is killed by balls following a shooting in a club of the 8 Mile road in Detroit (without however that this shooting is in bond with Eminem and its entourage). It is the second member of the group D-12 of which Eminem forms part which is made kill (the first being the rappor Bugz).
