Ligurie
The Area of Ligurie (in Italian Regione Liguria ), more usually called Ligurie in French, is the Région of Italy north-western of the peninsula. It is populated of 1,7 million inhabitants. It has like capital Genoa.
Geography
Between the the Alps and the the Apennines, it borders the Ligure Mer, with its will rivieras di ponente and di Levante , between France in the west by the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure, in north by the Piedmont and the Emilie-Romagna, in south-east by the Toscane.The ligure coast is near important underwater faults due to the play of the tectonic plates. The area, of a seismicity moderated according to the specialists, records regular jolts. One fears a seism of strong amplitude there, that is to say higher than 6 on the scale of Richter, following the example catastrophe of the February 23rd 1887. The epicentre was located at sea, with broad Diano Marina. The shock wave affected a surface of 300 000 km ², making 640 victims and 566 wounded on Riviera Italian.
