Ligueil

Ligueil is a common French of the department of Indre-et-Loire, in the area Center.

Its inhabitants is called the Ligoliens, Ligoliennes .

Geography

Ligueil is located in the department of Indre-et-Loire (37), to 45 km in the south of Tours and near the Vienna (86) and of the Indre (36). Poitiers is to 70 km in the south-west of Ligueil, and Paris to 270 km in the North-East.

Ligueil is served by D50 coming from Tours and D31 coming from Amboise and Loches. A10 highway is at 20 minutes by Holy-Moor-with-Touraine, 40 minutes by Tours and 50 minutes by Amboise.

History

The name of Ligueil appears for the first time into 775, under the formula of Liggogalus.

Places and monuments

Witness of its past, the church Saint Martin was founded at the 12th century. But of the primitive building remain only vestiges. The chorus was rebuilt at the 13th century and taken again at the 15th century. The High altar with gate vault decorated and Retable classified date with the 17th century.

In the borough, the Seigniory which is used as Mairie since 1921 is a whole of buildings of the 17th century.

With some steps of this home the Chancellery of the 18th century is.

Other historical buildings are located on the commune of Ligueil, but in the countryside. In particular:
