The ligre or ligron (in English liger ) is an hybrid born of the union of a tiger-cat and a male Lion (the union of a Lionne and a male tiger gives a Tigron).

Description

Its peeling is russet-red clear with stripes blurred on the sides, the legs, the tail and the face. The males can present short a mane which often start behind the ears (the face is released). The abdomen can be mottled like that of the young lions. It happens that the ears are identical to those of the tigers, i.e. black on the reverse with a white point at the center.

The ligres are large and can weigh until 450kg and reach more 4m. In fact, the parents of the ligre do not bequeath any inhibiting gene of growth to him; thus, this one will grow all its life. The ligre can live a score of years.

The males are always sterile but the females, they, can reproduce. The ligre can reproduce with the tiger and the lion, but also with all the others félidés.
