History of Lignac
The powerful fortress of Castle-Guillaume was high between 1087 and 1112 per Guillaume IX, duke of Aquitaine. Given to the 13th century in Trémoille, it passed successively to the hands of various families; ruined at the 18th century, it was restored in 1880.
