Lifting Rock\'n\'roll
The lifting rock'n'roll is a sporting Danse based on the principle of the rock'n'roll at six times. He dances himself in couple, a man and a woman. It is about a derivative of the rock' roll into which Acrobatie S. are introduced.
History
The lifting rock'n'roll was born from the evolution of a certain number of dances: the Lindy hop, the bebop, the rock' roll… They are the Lyoneses who into 1972 invent the lifting rock'n'roll with a purely commercial aim, as for the Jive. Always more " spectacle and compétition" , it is a gymnastics danced on a popular music. As for Jive, the dancers weary competition rather quickly and return all to the traditional style of rock' roll (6 times in triple, simple or double step). Lifting rock'n'roll, although very " aventurier" with its starting, today is very codified and acrobatics, although impressive, are carried out today with all the security measures which are due for them.
The years 1970 and beginning of the year 1980 were the theater of the structuring of the lifting rock'n'roll like disciplines sporting. National federations of dance were born (apparently in perpetual conflicts!), then a federation of European dance, then a federation of world dance, the WRRC.
At present, France counts more than one thousand of candidates, and a number of practitioners whom one cannot count any more. Unfortunately, France is also the only country in the world which counts two federations of lifting rock'n'roll and disciplines associated: the CNRA and the AFDA.
Principle
The lifting rock'n'roll is danced on a 6 times basis with a basic step called “jumped”. In its broad outlines, the basic step consists of jumps to feet togethers in which one throws alternatively the right leg and left. That gives emblé this energy and this tonicity so characteristic of this dance. Contrary to the traditional rock'n'roll, it is very difficult to guide its partner, this is why a choreography is introduced. The latter is made up of leg movements (and of body…) with possibly of acrobatics. Very technical, the lifting rock'n'roll is generally danced with a single partner in order to facilitate the catches of reference mark which are very personal and specific to each couple.
The lifting rock'n'roll is extremely testing. It is shown that a demonstration of 1min30 was equivalent to the energy spent at the time of a 800m… but on the spot.
The lifting rock'n'roll can be close to the figure skating (couple and dance on ice), by choreography, the “small steps/leg movements”, carried, acrobatics, the costumes, the musical choices like their arrangement.
Acrobatics
When one begins in lifting rock'n'roll acrobatics are certainly impressive but not very dangerous, because limited in height. The dancer is practically always supported by the dancer, and it can be always hung up again with him if a problem occurs.
The principal risk occurs when one practices regularly and intensely this sport: an ignition of the periphery of the bone of the tibia (Périostite S). However, with the passing of years, the lifting rock'n'roll with the more high level became a discipline being able to be dangerous. Indeed since the appearance of the saltos before and back (which became double saltos before and back) the dancers revolve in the neighborhoods of 4 meters of the ground and are not held any more by the dancer.
Even if there, should however be noted several serious accidents remain rare, and that one regrets, alas, the death of a dancer in Austria.
Categories
The categories of lifting rock'n'roll are controls by a payment called Safety levels which limits the difficulty of acrobatics, determines the authorized ages and regulates the duration and the tempo of each passage of dance.Category Juniors B : They are youngest. Their age is limited to 14 years maximum. They dance 1 minute 30 on a Tempo of 47 - 48 measurements per minute. No acrobatics are authorized to them.
Catégorie Juniors has : Right before the " large ". They have between 14 and 17 years and dance 1 minute 30, on a tempo of 47 - 48 measurements per minute. 4 led acrobatics are authorized.
Category C : The adults, it is the category with which in general the adult candidates start, they dance during 1 minutes 30 on a tempo of 48 - 50 measurements per minute. 5 led acrobatics are authorized.
Category B : This category prepares with the queen category, they dance 1 minute of passage to ground without acrobatics on a tempo of 48 - 50 measurements per minute and 1 minutes 30 of lifting passage on a tempo of 48 - 50 measurements per minute; 6 acrobatics are authorized, they are not entitled however yet to the saltos.
Catégorie has : It is the queen category. It is in this category that the representatives of Switzerland in international contests are selected, they dance 1 minute of passage to ground without acrobatics on a tempo of 50 - 52 measurements per minute and 1 minute 30 of lifting passage on a tempo of 48 - 50 measurements per minute; 6 acrobatics are authorized. The saltos 1/2 as well as the doubles are authorized only starting from the 1/2 finales. However, the doubles saltos remain the maximum level of difficulty authorized.
For a few years, the CNRA (France) has renamed the categories has, B and C (without modifying some, apparently, rules). The category C is called from now on " Main road 3" , B, " Main road 2" and has, " Main road 1".
