Lifespan of the plants

One distinguishes the annual plants , bi-annual and multiannual .

At the annual , germination, the growth, the flowering and the maturation of seeds follows one another in at least the one year space.

The bi-annual species wait the second year to flower and so that their seeds come to maturity.

As for the multiannual , they flower and have fruits several years of continuation. Among these last, one counts the long-lived plants , of which the grassy air part dies after the maturation of the fruits; the sub-shrubs , which preserve their lignified lower part and make new growths in spring; and the Tree S and Shrub S, at which the lignified axis of the stem remains intact.
