Liege-Bastogne-Liege

Liege-Bastogne-Liege , created in 1892 by the Pesant Club Inhabitant of Li2ege and the Liege Cyclist Union , is oldest of the cycle races still disputed, which is worth to him the name of Doyenne . Its broken course of 260 km does of it one of traditional more demanding and more prestigious (the race owed at the origin being the prelude to a race of greatter importance, Liege-Paris-Liege . It of it was nothing).

This traditional, formerly registered with the calendar of the World cup is part from now on of the Pro-Turn.

Eddy Merckx is the recordman of victories (five), obtained between 1969 and 1975.

Bastogne is a city located 90 km at the south of Liege, near the Luxembourg border. The route of the race thus crosses the solid mass of the Ardenne in which the Ourthe and its affluents dug deep valleys.
