Toponymy
The toponym Lichans appears in the forms Lixans (1385, collection Duchesne volume CXIV), Lissans and Lixantz (respectively 1475 and 1480, contracts of Ohix), Lexans and Saint-Andrew de Lichans (respectively 1608 and 1678, insinuations of the diocese of Oloron).

Lichans and Sunhar met on August 5th, 1842.
