Libramont-Chevigny

Libramont-Chevigny (in Walloon Libråmont ) is a French-speaking city of Belgium located in Walloon region in the Province of Luxembourg.

This commune, one the most extended of from Belgium: the fifth on the scale of the Belgium, the second on the scale of the Walloon region. It is primarily known for its annual agricultural fair which joins together nearly 180000 visitors being distributed over 4 days. This fair is held in the middle of Libramont and occupies the largest unoccupied ground by fixed constructions in urban territory of Europe.

With the 1st July 2004, the total population of this commune is of 9.685 inhabitants (4 743 men and 4.942 women), called Libramontois (be). The total surface area is of 179,06 km ² what gives a Population density of 54,09 inhabitants per km ².

Libramont lodges the greatest establishment of the High School Robert Schuman (HERS). The HERS, which counts 2.000 students and 200 members of the personnel, proposes 21 formations concerned with 4 categories: economic, ancillary medical, teaching and technical. In addition to Libramont, the HERS is distributed on 2 other establishments, namely Arlon and Virton.
