The Liberal party ( Liberal Partido in Spanish) is a Uruguyan Political party founded at the year 2002. Its ideology is the Libéralisme. The party considers that the economic apogee of Uruguay at the end of the XIXe century were the consequence of the application of political initiatives founded in the liberal ideas , and this abandonment of the same one of share of the successive governments as from the period batllista it is what determined process of the social and economic deterioration that the country suffers since 1955.
After waiting of more than one year the Liberal party obtained its Currency in the Short Electoral one, by official resolution of this corporation of the January 21st of 2004, communicated to the interested parties the January 30th of 2004. As from this moment, the Liberal party was entitled to employ the currency Liberal party in the electoral process which would take place this same year in the Eastern République of Uruguay.
In agreement with the Constitution into force in 2004, the first authority of the electoral process is formed by the internal elections, where each part chooses those which will integrate its Convention (see electoral Régime of Uruguay) and the candidate who will take part in the presidential election. In this authority, the Liberal party obtained a little more than 1.500 votes, and Julio Vera was elected like candidate.
The I Liberal Convention met on August 22nd, 2004 with Montevideo. According to the bench for the Constitution and the Laws of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, Convention carried out the election of the authorities for the period 2004-2009 and the election of the " companion of formule" (i.e., that which accompanies the candidate with the President and who " is élu" as Vice-président if left it would reign in the election). On this occasion, the election of authorities determined the continuity of Julio Vera like chair Liberal party, and Jorge Borlandelli as a " companion of formule" or candidate with the Vice-president.
In the last authority of the electoral process of 2004, the national elections carried out the October 31st of 2004, the Liberal party obtained 1.548 votes.
