It obtained four Député S with the Althing with the legislative elections of 2003 (out of 63):

  • Guðjón Arnar Kristjánsson
  • Gunnar Örlygsson
  • Magnús Þór Hafsteinsson
  • Sigurjón Þórðarson

It is a center Liberal party, created in 1998 by the former deputy and minister Sverrir Hermannsson. Sverrir Hermannsson was before member of the Parti independence (is Sjálfstæðisflokkur) .

They are partisans of NATO firmly opposed to the invasion and the American occupation of the Iraq. They also reject adhesion with the European Union.

Its leader is Guðjón Arnar Kristjánsson and its vice-president is Magnús Þór Hafsteinsson.
